Occupation: SPK head

Appearance: White hair, white pajamas (white power ftw?) dead eye.

Personality: Near is the more level-headed, calmly assessing the situation, while the other, Mello, is more emotional and quick to act. Much like L, Near shows various odd behaviors during his normal life. He is usually seen hunched over rather than sitting. He also constantly plays with various toys, which he uses in his theories, as well as idly twiddling strands of his hair. He shows a great respect for L, basing much of how he solves crime on L's methods, even to the point where he only takes cases that he is interested with rather than trying to pursue justice. Near uses the wedding text "N" to represent himself and "L" as the new L in the very end.

History: Born as an orphan, L looked towards him as an successor. L chose Near sheerly has a fact of mathematical knowledge. The leveling of his abilities rivaled over genius. Grown up in the wammy house, in Watari's house for gifted children. After L's death, he takes over the position in SPK, becoming the leader. This SPK was established to continue the pursuit of Kira without L. Being the young genius he is, Near is able to deduce Light Yagami is Kira. After he finds that Teru Mikami is Light's proxy and Mello kidnaps Kiyomi Takada, Near is able to switch Mikami's Death Note with a forged one, allowing him to set up a final confrontation that leaves Light exposed. Ryuk kills Light soon after. Near says that neither he nor Mello could surpass L alone, but have managed to do so by inadvertently working together. Near soon takes L's alias, and keeps on the surviving members of the SPK as his subordinates.

Fears/Faults: Kira

Anything else: A mix of hate and fear for kira and all who possess a death note.

RP example:
Fading inbetween the realms of dream and reality, Near stared at his monitors. Staring at the large amount of evidence he had found from kira, and looking for leads towards the alias's true name. Spinning his chair around on the axel, he picked up a doll on the ground. The little finger doll represented kira, and was painted very well. "Oh, do not worry so Kira. We will find you, and you will pay. All of that power you have, it's all going to be taken away." Near stood up and walked towards his couch, and fitted himself firmly. He reached for a book in front of him with the names of all possible Kiras. "Hm...Rolf Nader....I suppose he could possibly have a deathnote...no, he doesn't live in japan...unless he could be using an other to write down names..hmmm....i'll have to see about this later." Putting down the book, he laid down on the couch. Dogmatically, it put him to sleep.

Slowly waking up, the face of Mello loomed over him. "Could you please, NOT, do that?~" A blank, solid expression kept it's posture. Near laid up, and started munching on the food in front of him. "Kira is like a coconut... keep cracking at him and he will break, he will slip up." Near stood up and walked over to a puzzle, and started putting in the pieces. One by one, everything you do leads us closer.
Finishing up the puzzle, he returned to the monitors, which had prodigious amounts of data. "Mello, you don't suppose that there would be a spike in kira's attacks, a large area, most active area, if you will." Staring at the information, he looked for any information. "We need meatbags, live stock, to draw him out."

A plan started to formulate in his mind, twisting and winding. "Send in the FBI, keep dates and tabs on all locations of them, and everything they do, and meet." Thinking of them being able to target Kira with their death. Picking up the little Kira doll again, he threw it towards Mello. "Go, get to work. I want the FBI here, now."

note: i wrote this in two days and was mostly high >.> and tired, and had nothing to work with Neutral
